Course Description: This training provides guidance to staff in terms of enhancing awareness, assessment, and intervention skills necessary for work in the field. It is intended to enhance staff’s ability to identify and minimize risk to the personal safety of both staff and their clients in a variety of settings. This training addresses the current opioid epidemic, changes in legislation, individuals experiencing an overdose and how to respond to those situations.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will be able to:
• Recognize the significance of the current opioid epidemic
• Opioid recognition and exposure hazards
• Identify and respond to an overdose
• Education and Understanding of Act 139
